Interested in learning how to SUCCESSFULLY make and decorate cake pops?! Equinox Pastries and Pops is here to help! In this 1. 5 hour class we'll cover the basics to cake pops, talk chocolate and how to dip cake pops in chocolate, general strategies to troubleshoot cake pop making, and cover several ways to decorate round and shaped cake pops! This is beginner friendly! Everything you'll need is provided at class along with a live in-person instructor (me!) - - just bring your smile (and maybe an apron).
You'll leave class with a great understanding of the basics of cake pops, and 12-15 cake pops to take home and enjoy in some cute Valentine's Day shapes, colors and designs!

“Do you like the cake pop roller?”

Is a question I have heard a lot!
My answer? Yes and No 😅 Here’s why!

We actually use both hand rolling and the roller depending on so many factors! I have found that if my cake pop dough is not the perfect consistency, the cake just crumbles when it is pushed by the roller.

My top tips for the roller:

Don’t do too many cake balls at once! I really only ever do two rows like this, instead of 3-4 that the instructions talk about.

Cold dough seems to work better than warm dough. The dough needs to be firm but also moist, so the cold seems to help.

Play dough consistency dough is *close* to what you want, but it’s really a bit too dry. I go a tad more moist than that.

I actually do not use any frosting in my cake pop dough, my cake has enough moisture on its own 9 times out of 10! Obviously this might not be the case for everyone! If your cake is a bit over baked or is more dry by nature, add your frosting a really small amount at a time!

- Crater Lake which is SO BLUE! Someone give me a paint this color asap. I loved this parks story and we took a fun boat tour.
- Redwood National Park which had more “trees too big for cameras.” Just look at that tree I’m standing on!
- Lassen Volcanic NP, which has some geothermic features like a mini Yellowstone! We also found this cave formed by Lava.

I am currently touring National Parks in California and Oregon on a family vacation 🥰 Here are some highlights from the first half of the trip including:
-Seeing some of the biggest trees in the world in Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. The tree I’m hugging is only a small one! The biggest tree would take 20 people to get around it!
-Yosemite National Park which is just amazing. We spent 3 days in Yosemite seeing the wide array of ecosystems all in this glacier formed gorge. We climbed 600+ stairs to the top of Vernal Falls, scrambling up Lembert Dome for 360 degree views, a starry night display from Glacier Point, and the beautiful Tuolumne meadows above the valley.
